About
UNIKAL is a small production company based in Poland, with international clients
Before

Discovery -
Issues
Multiple issues were found and communicated with the client:
-
outdated design - the website was designed around 10 years ago and has not been updated since
-
no CTA - there is no clear goal of the website
-
translation issues - the website is available in multiple languages, as the company has international clients, but important sections remain in Polish
-
confusing content - there are three phone numbers and emails available on the website - which should the user choose?
-
accessibility issues - using multiple "read more" buttons; poor colour contrast; blocks of text
These are just a few examples.
Lo-fi wireframes
Strategy
-
Target audience - small and medium companies in Poland and Europe; individual customers
-
USP - small, family-owned company able to handle bigger, international companies (including the US); operating with fully-renewable energy (sustainable)
-
CTA - contact - easy user journey
-
Competitor analysis - the online presence of key competitors was examined and revealed a prevailing use of outdated design elements, presenting an opportunity to exceed user expectations
Define & research
Visual Design
After the initial wireframes were designed, visual assets were established to address the accessibility issues. The logo's colour was changed from light blue to dark blue improving the colour contrast from 2.97 to 8.38. The blue became the primary colour on the website, establishing a cohesive and accessible design.

Iteration
After the initial design was completed, it was revised considering the company's brand identity. The visual design was changed to be more masculine and darker, to be more in line with a production company and the client's vision.
Next steps
While the project is well underway, several key steps remain before the vision is fully realised. The next phases involve meticulous attention to detail and collaborative efforts to bring the redesign to life.
